INFALL
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
Stay out of the black
A black hole has opened in the middle of the screen. It bends the starlight round it, drags on your ship, your shots and every alien in the sector, and everything that falls in makes it bigger. The aliens keep pouring in. You have a small, fast ship, a gun on its nose, and as long as you can last.

Fly like it's Asteroids, fight like it's a swarm
Your ship drifts: thrust, turn and dash, with space wrapping round the edges. Your guns fire on their own. Your job is the flying: threading the swarm, keeping off the horizon, picking up the gems the dead leave behind. Every level deals three cards, and the build is yours to make:
- Nine weapons: a blaster, a tail gun, seekers, plasma moons, chain lightning, a nova burst, gravity mines that blast out and then drag everything back in, a singularity of your own, and a heavy gatling that turns up late.
- Nine ship upgrades: shields, hull, a reflector, a tractor beam, thrusters, a warp dash, dampers against the pull, and more.
- Six combos: max a weapon, pair it with the right upgrade, and it turns into something new: chain lightning becomes a storm, plasma moons a burning halo, seekers a swarm of hornets, and more.

Five bosses, five sectors
Bring down a boss and the hole falls back, and you're torn through to the next sector:
- The Mothership spits out drones and rings of plasma.
- The Serpent: shoot its body apart; its head's armoured till it's alone.
- The Lighthouse circles the hole sweeping a beam, and the hole swallows its light.
- The Tidelock is a dead moon circling the hole with a pull of its own: its tides fling everything about, and crack it open.
- The Twins: bring them down together, or the fallen one rises.
The Veil, Ember Reach, the Shatter, the Eclipse and the Deep each have their own sky and their own track, and their own aliens: leeches that latch on and drag you in, phantoms that vanish and come back closer, tethered pairs with a beam between them, shield-bearers that turn to block your shots.

Every run counts
- Salvage from every run buys upgrades in the Hangar that stay with you.
- Eight ships, each with its own weapon and build, won by reaching goals.
- Twenty-one goals to reach.
- Endless: bring down the Twins and you’re torn back to the Veil a loop deeper, tougher and worth more, for as long as you last.
- The daily run: the same sector, ship and twist for everyone, one day at a time.
- Combos, multi-kills, ranks and a best score to beat.
Made to play your way
Keyboard or controller, and you can rebind anything. Text size, screen shake and flashing can be turned down or off (it opens with a notice about the flashing, and it never flashes more than three times a second), and there's a soundtrack with a track for each sector.
New: Update 1, and a free demo
Update 1 is out, free for everyone who has the game: six combos, four new ships, Endless, and a fifth sector and boss, the Eclipse and the Tidelock. And there’s a free demo now: the first two sectors, for Windows and Mac. Everything you earn in it carries over to the full game.
Controls
- A / D or ← →: turn (your guns fire on their own)
- W or ↑: thrust (you drift, as in Asteroids)
- S or ↓: brake
- Space: dash, a burst nothing can touch
- 1 2 3: pick a card when you level up
- P or Esc: pause
A controller works too, and everything can be changed in Options.
